Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department were called to Ace Hardware in the 10300 block of Main Street on Nov. 5, where there was a reported larceny involving a group of people.

Upon arrival, they located the suspects in a vehicle not far from the store, prompting a traffic stop; however, when the officer approached the vehicle, police say that the driver intentionally backed into a motor officer assisting with the stop, leaving them with minor injuries before fleeing into Fairfax County.

Police were able to track down the vehicle and five suspects were arrested:

  • Ryan Leonard, 32, of Parkville;
  • Lyric Bowers, 28, of Halethorpe;
  • Breanna Gorman Berg, 19, of Largo, Florida;
  • Carroll Hall, 41, of Baltimore;
  • Donte Clayton, 34, who has no fixed address.

Leonard was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance;
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;
  • Possession of narcotics while possessing a firearm;
  • Possession of a stolen firearm;
  • Attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer;
  • Felony speeding to elude police.

Bowers was charged with grand larceny and served on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

The others were charged with grand larceny.

All five were taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where they were held with no bond.
